About Us

Ryan Cockerill, CPA

Let’s address your first question.  I was born in 2000.  So yes, I likely could be your child; maybe even your grandchild.

This leads us to your next question, “Aren’t you a little young to be starting your own CPA practice?”. To which I would say something like, “I watched a lot of Phineas and Ferb as a kid”.  And that reference likely flew over your head as it was probably way past your time.  And that’s okay!

So, with all our silly questions out of the way, let me share with you my industry experience:

I started my accounting career in 2015 under my father who was also a CPA of his own firm.  Needless to say, I learned accounting from arguably one of the best.  Prior to my father starting his own firm, he built spec homes prior to 2008.  He then transitioned to laying tile as a subcontractor.  Naturally, I was always brought along to help which is part of the reason why I understand construction.  I started Booking It in 2017 when I was in high school as a basic bookkeeping service thinking that there would be some people foolish enough to trust me.  There were a couple.

Fast forward a bit, I attended college for 3 years, held a couple of tax and audit internships, and continued to do construction accounting with Booking It at the same time.  After graduation, I landed a public audit job in San Francisco at one of the Big 4 accounting firms.  I learned a lot about red-tape culture at work, and a lot about San Francisco culture outside of work.  Eventually, culture shock drove me home.  And now I have taken my red-tape and analytical skills to help small construction professionals like you thrive!

If you’re still on the fence about my construction administrative expertise, let me assure you that I deal with your type of problems on a daily basis.  I am an active co-owner in a construction firm specializing in luxury home builds and remodels.  Change orders, insurance audits, accounting, tax, invoicing, bills, payroll, and all the other various construction compliance is something I deal with regularly.

Stacey Chea, Bookkeeper

Hey everyone!  Watching my parents run their own businesses growing up has taught me what hard work really looks like.  That hard work and determination allowed me to a manage million-dollar business by age 21 and earned me a promotion to district manager trainer by age 24. And I continued to run multiple locations for 8 years.

But sitting around a table with other colleagues, who were twice my age at the time, made me realize I wanted to do more with my career than to make a large company look good. Because at the end of the day, I was just collecting a paycheck.  In recent years, I have helped 4 different business owners launch their own small businesses and have found a passion for helping business owners focus on their businesses, while I help them stay organized and compliant.

With a degree in Business and Organizational Leadership, I have found a new passion for helping business owners (like my parents) focus on what they love and are passionate about. And I help to organize the back end of running a business so they can be successful at what they do!
